Occupying a distinctive timber-framed building, our café offers a wide range of delicious freshly made dishes throughout the day. Our comfortable and spacious surroundings will suit those needing quiet reflection as well as a place to linger with friends.
The Bakehouse at 124 occupies a distinctive, timber-framed Grade ll listed building that's a familiar landmark in Tonbridge High Street. It's likely the authentic, traditional bakery methods and recipes we use as artisan bakers today were familiar to the earliest occupants of Number 124.
Our café menu offers all sorts of freshly made and tasty foods throughout the day.
For breakfast we can serve you with our own granola or a comforting bowl of hot porridge.
For lunch you might fancy a satisfying slice of quiche with some crisp salad or soup with your favourite bread.
If you're looking for a 'proper' Afternoon Tea then Bakehouse at 124 is definitely the place to be. We aim to take you back to a bygone age when Afternoon Tea was a national ritual. Choose from an assortment of savoury and sweet baked delights and high-quality tea and coffee - all beautifully served in bone china cups, of course.
The open-plan design of our integrated bakehouse and café is unusual, to say the least. By putting the 'art' in artisan baking on public show makes us different from most other artisan and conventional bakery businesses. The busy bakehouse gives the café its very special atmosphere and our bakers play a valuable part in a big team effort to make every customer's experience a memorable one.
You can take a front-row seat and see how we make our bread, cakes and patisserie from the mixing stage through to when they come out of the oven smelling tantalisingly delicious.
We provide ample space to sit in comfort. As well as easily accessible seating downstairs, we have plenty more tables on the first floor where there is an inglenook and stove to warm you up on a winter's day. While outside we have a walled garden for you to enjoy during the summer.
